Go to the Source

by

Dean Gotcher

Having spent years in history classes in college and university, with most teachers going to the source, i.e. using source material, not just what some historian wrote about the subject, I have tried to do the same.  The Lord lead me back to the university, with the word of God, to read the source material from which our nation is now "grounded" upon.  During the time of my first writing on the subject of the dialectic process,  Diaprax and the End of the Ages, I told myself I would not have read anything I had written, just to stay pure, not swayed by men's opinions on the subject, including mine.  I have tried to stay true to this course of action, taking all who read my material back to the source, especially to the Word of God.

What I have discovered is that most people do not want source material, which makes them think, which makes them personally accountable, having become accustomed to someone else telling them what someone meant, therefore any accountability for error being on the other person's part.  I believe this is in major part due to our education, having learned to depend upon what other people think or how they feel, rather than learning how to dig out what is true, 'truth' now being subject to men's opinions, subject to 'change,' (so that we have room to "do our thing" outside the truth, i.e. outside of accountability) rather than being held accountable to the facts, to the truth, which holds us accountable for our thoughts and actions.  "But, as has been pointed out before, we recognize the point of view that truth and knowledge are only relative and that there are no hard and fast truths which exist for all time and places." (Benjamin Bloom, Taxonomy of Educational Objective  Book 1: Cognitive Domain, 1956)  Facts instead are now hidden (being drowned out) by men's opinions.  In this way, man's opinion ('change') can predominate in the thoughts and actions of those who read their material so that they can gain and retain favor in the eyes of men, i.e. not engendering a "guilty conscience" for their thoughts and actions against the Lord God.

It is here that I find few concerned about truth and facts today, researching (going to the source, following the book trail, i.e. who influenced whom) to know the truth, weighing the opinions of men from the Word of God, coming to realize that all source material, i.e. including what "original" thinkers have written, to advance their cause (in this case, world dominance) all leads back to the "garden experience," i.e. to man 'liberating' himself from the Word of God (Genesis 3:1-6).  There is, after all, nothing new under the sun.  There is no "new" age, just the rebellious heart of men, "the children of disobedience" ruling the world, preparing themselves and the world for the day of judgment, i.e. for God's wrath upon those who refuse Him as their source.  "If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me." Luke 9:23  "The Son of man shall send forth his angels, and they shall gather out of his kingdom all things that offend, and them which do iniquity; And shall cast them into a furnace of fire: there shall be wailing and gnashing of teeth.  Then shall the righteous shine forth as the sun in the kingdom of their Father. Who hath ears to hear, let him hear."  Matthew 13:41-43

John Whitehead, a lawyer whose class I attended, insisted that we go to the source.  So we read over 1600 pages of supreme court decisions as well as the minutes of the framing of the Constitution.  Having studied Greek in seminary, I later learned (by going to the source) that it was a corrupted Greek source, which is today being translated from with the intent of moving the "church" from source material to opinion material to engender dialogue, how you "feel" and what you "think" God's Word means, instead of applying it to your heart and  preaching and teaching it as "It is written." "Man does not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God." Deuteronomy 8:3  Satan has left no stone unturned (except the rock, "upon this rock I will build my fellowship," i.e. "for flesh and blood [men's opinions] hath not revealed it unto thee, but my Father which is in heaven." which no man or Satan himself can overturn it, i.e. "and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it") in his effort to overthrow the Works of the Lord.  It is men who, instead of preaching and teaching the Word of God as is (as given), dialogue the opinions of men regarding the Word of God, as thought they are the Words of God, who have 'changed' this nation from one which, in the past, had a semblance of "the fear of God and love for His Word" to where it now "fears man and loves his opinion, turning from seeking "the approval of the Lord God and the Lord Jesus Christ" to "the approval of men," trusting in men to "butter their bread," so to speak, leading this nation into where it is today, an abomination of desecration. "The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge: but fools despise wisdom and instruction."  Proverbs 1:7  "And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient [not decent];"  Romans 1:28

The summation to this short issue is: "Cursed is the man who trust in man and maketh flesh his arm, and whose heart departeth from the LORD. Blessed is the man that trusteth in the LORD, and whose hope the LORD is." Jeremiah 17:5, 7  "Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not unto your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will direct your paths." Proverbs 3: 5-6  But those behind the pulpit and in the so called Bible classes, youth groups, etc. i.e. in the "church," enamored with the facilitation of 'change,' i.e. "the approval of men," respond to the Word of God today as those who lived in the days of Jeremiah: "Thus saith the LORD, Stand ye in the ways, and see, and ask for the old paths, where is the good way, and walk therein, and ye shall find rest for your souls. But they said, We will not walk therein."  Jeremiah 6:16

"If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God.  Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth.  For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God.   When Christ, who is our life, shall appear, then shall ye also appear with him in glory.  Mortify therefore your members which are upon the earth; fornication, uncleanness, inordinate affection, evil concupiscence, and covetousness, which is idolatry: For which things' sake the wrath of God cometh on the children of disobedience: In the which ye also walked some time, when ye lived in them. But now ye also put off all these: anger, wrath, malice, blasphemy, filthy communication out of your mouth.  Lie not one to another, seeing that ye have put off the old man with his deeds [Greek, praxis]; and have put on the new man, which is renewed in knowledge after the image of him that created him."  Colossians 3:1-11

"For I am jealous over you with godly jealousy: for I have espoused you to one husband, that I may present you as a chaste virgin to Christ. But I fear, lest by any means, as the serpent beguiled Eve through his subtilty, so your minds should be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ.  For if he that cometh preacheth another Jesus, whom we have not preached, or if ye receive another spirit, which ye have not received, or another gospel, which ye have not accepted, ye might well bear with him."  2 Corinthians 11:2-4

Go to the source, i.e. to the Word of God, weighing all men's opinions and actions (including yours) from it.
